According to Channels Television, the Chairman of Wukari Local Government Area, Daniel Grace, said that the incident took place on Sunday night.
Five persons also sustained injuries with houses also burnt.
Daniel alleged that those that attacked Tsokundi village were Tiv militias whom they have been in a feud with for several years now.
He also alleged that the Tiv militias are camping at Kyado primary school in Benue state, from where they launch their attack, pointing out that the recent attack was launched from same said school.
”This recent attack, they came from Kyado primary school in Benue state, stopped at Tor Damisa in Donga local government area of Taraba state before unleashing mayhem on villagers of Tsokundi community in Wukari L G A”.
The Police in Taraba are yet to confirm the incident though.
The Tiv/Jukun crisis is an age long fracas which has attracted the attention of both state Governors of Taraba and Benue as well as the Federal government, yet the killings have continued unabated.
Taraba Varsity Senior Lecturer Kidnapped
In related news, a senior lecturer with the Taraba State University, Jalingo, Benjamin Ezekiel has been kidnapped.
Mr Ezekiel was abducted by unknown gunmen in his residence at ATC near Grace Junior Academy in the early hours of Sunday.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP David Misal, while confirming the incident said the Police is aware of the abduction and have put in place machinery to ensure his safe release from his abductors.
Also confirming the abduction, the Chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Taraba State University chapter, Linus William said the abductors came in their number, shooting sporadically in the air to scare his neighbours, before taking him away.
He added that the abductors took the Senior lecturer to an unknown destination.
Linus further revealed that the abductors are yet to contact the family to know what their demands are.
