Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Saturday said Romelu Lukaku was “not useful” to the team as they defeated Perth Glory 2-0 in a pre-season friendly without the player.

Earlier this week, Inter Milan confirmed they were in talks to sign the 26-year-old, who has lost the manager’s favour to Marcus Rashford.
Asked whether Lukaku would be a Red Devils player next season, Solskjaer refused to disclose the next line of action.
“Let’s see when the season starts,” Solskjaer told reporters after the game.
“We’ve not had any bids that we’re considering. All my conversations with the players I will keep confidential. That’s between us – that’s my privilege.
“There’s been so much speculation but yes he should be fit for Wednesday. He trained with the team yesterday but he was not useful today.”
Nigerian defender Jamal Balogun has joined English Premier League club Watford, according to a statement by the club on Saturday.
Balogun sealed a one-year contract with the EPL side from Reading.
“Jamal Balogun, Sam Dalby, Cameron Green, Joseph Hungbo and Henry Wise will all be part of the Hornets’ development squad during the 2019/20 season,” the club said.
