A former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to halt the rate of killings in Nigeria.

Concise News understands that Ezekwesili said this on Saturday in Lagos at the 11th Wole Soyinka Centre Media Lecture series.

She also condenmed the killing of Funke Olakunrin, the 58-year-old daughter of an Afenifere leader Reuben Fasoranti in Ondo State on Friday.

According to her, the murder of Olakunrin showed the seriousness of insecurity in the country.

”The government should do what it is expected to do on the issue of insecurity in the country,” she said.

”The safety of citizens of this country should be placed above any other issue.”
