Barcelona have completed the signing of Antoine Griezmann after the Spanish champions paid La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid the 120 million euro ($135 million) release clause required to sign the World Cup winner, Concise News reports.
“The player will sign a contract with his new club for the next five seasons, through to 30 June 2024, with a buyout clause of 800 million euros,” Barca said in a statement.
The World Cup winner, according to reports, did not show up for Atletico Madrid pre-season on Sunday after he had announced in May he would be leaving the Wanda Metropolitano.
Former Barcelona midfielder Xavier Hernández says return of Neymar to the club would be a difficult task.
Concise News reported that Barca have been linked with a move for Neymar, who left Camp Nou for French giants PSG in a world-record €222million deal in 2017.
Xavi played alongside Neymar for two seasons, before moving to Qatari side Al Sadd in 2015 and the 39-year-old told Movistar: “He would be an incredible signing.
“But I see it as being difficult, honestly. I think it’s very difficult.
“We have seen so many things that I thought I’d never see though, such as PSG paying €222 million, so we’ll have to wait.
“There’s no doubt that he’s one of the best players in the world, but let’s see what Barcelona do.”
Manchester City is considering signing Brazil captain, Dani Alves, in this summer’s transfer window as a potential replacement for Defender Danilo, Concise News reports.
According to Daily Mail, Guardiola is ready to sign the 36-year-old experienced right-back if Danilo eventually leaves Man City this summer.
The newspaper is reporting that Danilo is set to leave Etihad this summer after receiving interests from Serie A giants: Inter Milan and Juventus.
