Concise News learned that the House of Assembly Speaker Aminu Shagali had on Thursday declined Jaafar, who was nominated by El-Rufai to work as the Commissioner for Agriculture.

Swearing in the new commissioners on Friday, El-Rufai declared his support for the state Assembly over the rejection of the nominee.

The Speaker, while stating his reasons for rejecting the nominee, sighted Jaafar’s constant criticism of Governor El-Rufai’s administration.

Reacting to the development, Governor El-Rufai said he was in support of the decision.

“We thank the Kaduna State House of Assembly for prompt confirmation and scrutinisation of our commissioners.

”We note that the House was unable to confirm one of our nominees and we will shortly be proposing a replacement.

“I think they did the right thing because it is their job to check whatever we are doing. No one is perfect, we can never always get it right.

”That is why our partnership with the state house of assembly is a healthy one. And we support every decision they take,” he explained.
