Super Eagles of Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr is hopeful he will have the trio of Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa and Chidozie Awaziem available for Sunday’s clash with Algeria.
The three-time African champions take on the 1990 winners on Sunday in the semi-finals of the 2019 Africa cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Meanwhile, Concise News understands that the aforementioned players are nursing calf, adductor and ankle injuries respectively.
“Odion Ighalo has a calf injury, Ahmed Musa has adductor while Chidozie Awaziem coped ankle,” the German told SportingLife.
“But the team doctor has assured me that the said players will be ready and fit to play in the semi-finals.”
The trio sat out recovery training on Thursday, a day after Nigeria beat South Africa 2-1 in an AFCON quarter-final.
Algeria defeated Ivory Coast on penalties on Thursday after both teams played out a 1-1 draw in 120 minutes of open play to set up a mouthwatering last-four clash with Nigeria.
