Reggae dancehall singer Patrick Okorie, popularly known as Patoranking, has revealed how he hawked in traffic in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Patoranking made this revelation in an interview with Okay Africa.
He said, “My dad was a petty trader, so I was selling with him. We sold in traffic in Cotonou, when I was 12. Just look at any 12-year-old now, I was like that hawking on the streets of Lagos.
“There’s nothing I didn’t sell. But you know the one people talk about online and people laugh about is that I sold rat poison.”
The 28-year-old noted that the first step he took after making money was moving his parents out of their apartment in Ebute Meta.
Recently, Patoranking announced that his toddler daughter, Wilmer, had completed her church baptism.
The reggae dancehall king stormed the Nigerian music scene with his hit song “Girlie O” which won the hearts of many and has shown that it takes perseverance, determination and hard work to succeed.
