Senate Joins Force With House Of Rep, Intervenes In Edo Assembly Crisis

The Senate has constituted an ad hoc committee to investigate the crisis in the Edo State House of Assembly.

Concise News learned that the red chamber on Wednesday took the step following a point of order raised by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele.

The Senate urged the ad hoc committee to work with the House of Representatives committee already investigating the matter.

This online news platform had earlier reported that the House of Representative had begun probing the crisis.

Senator Mathew Urhoghide, representing Edo South Senatorial District, appealed to his colleagues to carry on with the intervention diligently.

The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, constituted the 5-men-committee with Senator Aliyu Sabi as chairman.

Other members include Chukwuka Utazi, Gabriel Suswam, Aisha Ahmed and Ahmed Kaita.
