South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes known as AKA has lamented his country’s 2-1 loss to Nigeria on Wednesday at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019.

Nigeria saw-off the Bafana Bafana in a quarter-final clash at the 2019 (AFCON) with Villarreal man Samuel Chukwueze scoring for the West Africans in the 27th minute before Bongani Zungu’s header in the 71st minute, after a VAR review, pegged back Nigeria.

However, with just one minute to the end of normal time, William Troost-Ekong secured the win for the three-time African champions.

While reacting to the defeat, AKA twitter that it would have been better if South Africa had lost to Egypt in their round of 16 tie.

“We should have just lost to Egypt … rather than Nigeria,” he tweeted.

He had earlier said: “I’m hurt man. This match was bigger than football. The biggest rivalry on the continent. Why do we always have to lose against Naija at EVERYTHING.”
