Appoint Tanko Mohammed As CJN, NJC Tells President Buhari

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Tanko Muhammed as the substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

Concise News understands that the NJC made the call in Abuja on Friday after an emergency meeting.

Also, it recommended some judges to Buhari for him to appoint as  Chief Judges and Grand Kadis for eight states – Lagos, Anambra, Ebonyi, Niger, Taraba, Kano, and Jigawa states.

This is as it lauded the President for his support for the financial independence of the country’s judiciary.

It urged the Executives of states to, as a matter of urgency, start its immediate implementation.
