William Troost-Ekong’s 89th minute winner gave the Super Eagles of Nigeria a 2-1 win over South Africa to reach the semi-final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

Villarreal youngster Samuel Chukwueze had handed Nigeria the lead in the 27th minute after connecting an Alex Iwobi pass.

Nigeria started off the second trying to get another goal but could not convert some begging chances.

However, with about ten minutes to go, the Bafana Bafana hit an equaliser and pressed the Nigerians for a winner.

Concise News understands that William Troost-Ekong then secured the match for Gernot Rohr’s men in the 89th minute of the clash to send his team to the semi-final of the competition.
