Senator Elisha Abbo has been arraigned by the FCT Police Command, for allegedly assaulting a woman at a sex toy shop in Abuja.
The lawmaker representing Adamawa north in the upper chamber was arraigned at a magistrate court in Zuba on Monday.
TheCable reports that Anjuguri Manzah, spokesman of the federal capital territory (FCT) police, confirmed this via text message when asked on the development.
He was quoted to have said: “Yes. Thanks.”
The video of the Senator assaulting a woman at a sex toy shop in Abuja went viral, attracting a public outrage in condemnation of the act.
Following the public outcry, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu directed the Commissioner of Police in charge of FCT, CP Bala Ciroma to investigate the matter.
The investigation led to the invitation of the Senator to the Command, which further led to his detention on Thursday.
He was however released on Friday afternoon after meeting the bail conditions.
