An Assistant Superintendent of the Nigeria Customs Service, Nura Dalhatu, has been hospitalized for displaying signs of mental ailment.
Concise News understands that Dalhatu created a scene on Monday morning when he appeared at the office of the Customs Headquarters, Abuja, wearing the rank of a Deputy Comptroller General.
The Assistant Superintendent insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered him to replace retired Col. Hameed Ali, the Comptroller-General of Customs.
The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customer Service disclosed that Dalhatu was questioned about his action but responded in a manner that indicated he was mentally unfit.
“It was obvious that he was not in the right frame of mind. From the question and the answer he gave,” Attah said.
The Customs PRO said the personnel has been taken to the hospital for appropriate evaluation and treatment.
Attah appealed to Nigerians to show compassion towards his condition and pray for his quick recovery, saying the development was too serious for any citizen to mock or use to further a harmful agenda.
The spokesperson added that information about the development would be provided to the public as soon as possible.
