Concise News had reported that the CNG had on Wednesday issued a 30-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to implement the Ruga policy across the country.
The ultimatum followed the Federal Government’s suspension of the Ruga herdsmen settlements policy.
While reacting to the development, Ortom, in a statement, Friday, stresses that “the Coalition is not an alternative government and therefore has no right to issue such a warning.”
According to him, “if the government introduces a programme but later decides to suspend it in the larger interest of Nigeria, groups under whichever appellation have no constitutional powers to coerce it to rescind the decision.”
He added commended President Muhammadu Buhari for suspending the Ruga settlements plan, saying it is a move in the right direction.
