Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi has said that the shock defeat to Madagascar will give Nigeria the hunger to do well against Cameroon in an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Round of 16 clash on Saturday.
Concise News reports that Iwobi believes, so far, the Super Eagles have done well.
Iwobi was speaking to NFF in an interview.
“Of course [Nigeria have a chance against Cameroon]. Even though we had a defeat in the last game, it would give us a bit of humility and it would give us the hunger to go into the next game.”
Ask his thoughts about the Super Eagles’ AFCON campaign so far, he says:
“I believe we’ve done well. It’s not easy.
“Burundi and Madagascar – first time in the competition and they showed why they should be here. No game was easy, but we were able to qualify. That’s the main thing.”
The players are at the gym to sweat it out.
