At least eleven persons were on Wednesday struck to death in Kankara and Danmusa Local Government Areas of Katsina State.

Concise News understands that this followed attacks by bandits in many communities in the identified local councils.

The bandits attacked Maidabino in Danmusa Local Government Area and killed sixteen people.

Also, two others who were injured in the attack are at the General hospital, Dutsin-ma for treatment.

The attackers struck at Maidabino’s local market in the area.

“The bandits suddenly arrived while trading was going on at Maidabino market and started shooting anyhow,” the source told Punch.

“People had to scamper for safety. Sixteen people were killed in the process. We initially recovered ten bodies while we recovered an additional six bodies this morning (Thursday). We have taken the two people who sustained gunshots injuries to the General hospital, Dutsinma for treatment.”

And on Wednesday night, the bandits struck again at various communities in Kankara Local Government Area.

The resulted in the death of four people at Unuwar Nagwande; nine at Unguwar Rabo and two at Gidan Daji.

Commenting on the matter, the Katsina Police command, said eleven people died in Kankara LG, with two shot at Maidabino.
