The Liverpool striker is looking to add more silverware to his collections after helping his club land Champions League trophy, and his first-half strike kept that dream alive.

Mane missed a second-half penalty after he had been clattered, but his earlier clinical finish proved enough.

This was Senegal’s eighth win in their last nine games, and the Terenga Lions will next face fellow West Africans Benin who earned a shock 4-1 penalties win against Morocco following a 1-1 draw earlier on Friday.

Mane’s goal came in the 15th minute after charging into the penalty area to beat Onyango with a low left-footed shot into the bottom-right corner.
