Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu has said the team will give their best when they face Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019.

Nigeria will take on their archrivals in a round of 16 clash at the AFCON 2019 after both sides finished second in their groups.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Ogu admitted that the Super Eagles have not given their best to the side at the competition.

He also noted that the game will not be easy for Gernot Rohr’s boys who have managed to score only two goals and conceded the same number in the tournament thus far.

“We as players feel like we have not really given our best but we can really be proud that we made it past the group stage. Now we have a big game against Cameroon,” he said.

“That’s what we are looking forward to, it’s not going to be easy. We had a meeting among ourselves and we talked to ourselves to come out with our A-game because the game is very important to Nigerians back home and we are looking forward to achieving this.”
