Ruga: No Land For Herdsmen Settlements, Rivers State Blows Hot

The Rivers State Government has said it does not have land for the Federal Government’s Ruga settlements for herdsmen.

Concise News understands that the Ruga settlements, according to the Federal Government, is meant to curb clashes between herdsmen and farmers in the country.

However, a statement on Tuesday by the Rivers State Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Paulinus Nsirim, noted that at no point did the government approve land for Ruga settlements.

It restated that Governor Nyesom Wike is committed to improving commercial agriculture in the state, to create employment for youths.

The statement added that Rivers State does not intend to give out land in the future for Ruga settlements.
