Every July 2 is a special day for Afro-fusion singer Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, and this year’s was not left out.
The singer could be seen in a video dancing with his mother Bose Ogulu, grandmother and girlfriend.
The cheering moment, however, took an emotional dimension when his mother and grandfather took turns to pray for him.
Musician Zlatan Ibile, celebrity dancer Pokolee and other guests also graced the event.
Burna Boy recently won the Best International Act ahead of his Nigerian counterpart Teni Makanaki at the recent BET awards.
The singer, who recently made the 2019 Forbes 30 under 30 list, began the musical year with hefty, fan-favourite tunes including ‘Dangote’ and ‘Killin Dem’ featuring Zlatan.
He rose to prominence in 2012 after releasing the lead single “Like to Party” from his debut studio album and has bagged several nominations and awards.
