The French striker opened up the possibility of an exit last month when he said it is ‘maybe the moment to have more responsibilities at a new project.’
However, he has since gone back on that statement, suggesting he plans to stay in Paris, and now PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has completely ruled out the World Cup winner leaving.
“Will he still be at PSG next year? I am not 100 per cent sure, but 200 per cent!” Al Khelaifi told France Football. ‘I will not let go of this player.’
The PSG president was less insistent when asked about Neymar, who is also being linked with a move away from France this summer.
“I want players willing to give everything to defend the honour of the jersey and to join the club project.
“Those who do not want, or do not understand, we see each other and we talk to each other. ‘There are of course contracts to be respected but the priority now is total membership of our project.
“Nobody forced him to sign here. Nobody pushed him. He came knowingly to join a project.”
