Concise News gathered that the Governor spoke to reporters in Kaduna on Friday after the Northern State Governors Forum, NSGF, meeting.
Bello disclosed that his administration did not incur any debt through the non-payment of salaries entitles to workers since he became the state governor.
The Governor said the outstanding workers’ salaries were incurred by his predecessor.
Bello revealed that when he assumed office, he figured out some ghost workers and after which he has been able to pay all the salaries due to workers during his administration.
He noted that the previous administration applied for N80.5 billion bailout from the Federal Government and that President Muhammadu Buhari approved N50.8 billion.
The Governor, however, disclosed that he was going to withdraw the remaining N30.8 billion to clear the arrears.
“What is owed by the previous administration is exactly what is owed now. Under my watch, I am not owing a single dime but inherited liability which Mr President has approved. As soon as we draw that N30.8 billion we shall clear all the arrears,” he stated.
On the other side of thing, Bello promised that before December, owing salaries would be a history in Kogi.
He reassured the people of Kogi State that even without withdrawing the N30.8 billion that he would secure an alternative method to clear the remaining arrears.
