Recall this online news medium reported that a circular was sent to some N-Power state Focal Persons to begin headcount exercise for all 2016 volunteers. The objective of this exercise is to ascertain the active volunteers and those that have absconded from their Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).

Lagos commenced the exercise on Thursday the 9th of May. Generally, it was a smooth process in almost all the local government areas, Concise News gathers.

Alimosho Local Government volunteers had theirs today (Monday), and it went well. However, at Ikorodu Local Government, the process experienced slight disorderliness from volunteers as many were uncooperative with those in charge, which meant that the exercise was later suspended last week.

The headcount cum reverification for all N-Power pioneer volunteers (N-Teach & N-Health) for Lagos state ends 16th May 2019.

For N-Agro, beneficiaries’ active list has been collated and submitted by the Block Extension Supervisors and Zonal Extension Officers to the office of the Lagos State N-Power Focal person. N-Agro beneficiaries are expected to get in touch with their representative for further information.

The N-Power scheme currently engages no fewer than 500,000 youth graduates deployed throughout the federation to provide public health services in teaching, health, agriculture and tax and monitoring.

It also engages another 200,000 non-graduates in training or on attachment to organisations as interns.

N-Power Beneficiaries In Buoyant Mood, What Could Be The Reason?

Beneficiaries of the Federal Government‘s social intervention programme, N-Power, seem to be in buoyant mood following the prompt payment of their April stipends.

Concise News reports that a cordial post on the verified social media handles of the scheme (Twitter and Facebook) on Monday morning generated complimentary comments from beneficiaries.

The mood is different from the often uncivil reactions from beneficiaries, especially times they are yet to be paid their monthly stipends.

This online news medium learnt that most beneficiaries got their April remuneration as and when due, compared to their March stipend which was paid late. The timely payment coupled with the ongoing headcount – which some volunteers believe is a step towards permanency – may have been the cause of the cheerfulness.

N-Power Responds To 2017 Beneficiaries’ Device Collection Query

A scheme from the Federal Government‘s social investment programmes, N-Power has responded to queries from 2017 beneficiaries who are yet to collect their device.

Concise News reports that all N-Power beneficiaries are entitled to an electronic device which would be loaded with different applications that would further enhance the skills of the beneficiaries and afford them additional training opportunities during the duration of the programme.

The device grant is in conjunction with the Bank of Industry (BOI).

Each of the beneficiaries after being verified selects their choice device among multiple BOI pre-approved vendors.

In some cases, an amount device grant would cover the full monthly deduction cost while in other cases, the graduate authorises BOI to deduct the additional differential cost from their monthly stipends depending on the device chosen. There are indigenous local brands among the BOI pre-approved vendors.

While many of the pioneer group (2016 beneficiaries) of the N-Power scheme have collected their device, the last set of volunteers have not, thus, the constant inquiry of when they are collecting their device.

Responding to a beneficiary from Zamfara state who states that he “had been expecting the process of device selection”, N-Power social media page handler(s) responds that the device selection will begin “soon”:
