Benue: Governor Ortom Speaks On Dumping PDP For APC

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has said he is not planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Concise News understands that Ortom, in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, revealed that he is in good relations with the party’s leaders and members at the state and national levels.

Governor disclosed that the reason for his visit to President Muhammadu Buhari was to discuss state matters and to update him on the security status in the state and the effort of the Government to guarantee peace in all parts of the state as well as states sharing a border with them.

The statement reads: “We wish to advise those spreading the rumour and misleading people to know that President Buhari is not an APC President.

”He is the President of the whole Nigeria across party divides. He is the Commander-in-Chief of the country’s armed forces and receives periodic briefings from State Governors and other stakeholders.

Benue: Ortom Speaks On Payment Of Salary With New Minimum Wage

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue has said the state will look inwards to be able to pay the new N30,000 minimum wage, Concise News understands.

Concise News reported that Buhari recently signed the Minimum wage bill into law.

Speaking on Monday in Abuja, Ortom told reporters after a meeting with  President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa that when loopholes are blocked, Benue State can pay the new salary.

“For me,” he said, “if I have my way they should even earn more than N30, 000 if the resources are there, they deserve it, we go to the same market and so we know the cost of living and other things are involved.”
