Biafra: Africans Are Still Mentally Enslaved, Says Nnamdi Kanu
IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has suggested that Africans are still mentally enslaved and wondered why it has remained so.

Kanu made the statement in a tweet while reacting to thousands of Welsh citizen who protested some few days ago, calling for Welsh independence from Britain.

The pro-Biafran group leader compared the protest in Wales to that of the IPOB in Nigeria, saying that unlike in Nigeria, the British army did not open fire on the Welsh protesters and nobody called them secessionists, separatists, miscreants or rabble rousers.

He said: “Thousands marched in Cardiff calling for Welsh independence without the mighty British army opening fire on them. Nobody called them secessionists, separatists, miscreants or rabble rousers. Still wondering why Africans are still mentally enslaved.”

Kanu and his group, IPOB, have been agitating for an independent nation of Biafra from Nigerian. The government of Nigeria had since proscribed the group.
