Alaafin Of Oyo Installs New Monarch In Igboho

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, on Wednesday installed Prince Joel Olalere Olawuwo as the new Alepata of Igboho land. Concise News understands.

Olawuwo is the newly Alepata-elect of Igboho land, however, Igboho is the headquarters of Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State.

This online medium learned that roads in linking to the ancient Igbo-Oba where three former Alaafins were buried experienced heavy traffic as the convoy of Alaafin of Oyo, crept through the already waiting crowd lined up to welcome the monarch.

Meanwhile, the installation ceremony aligned with the approval of the Oyo State Government to the election of the prince by the kingmakers on July 17, 2017.

The event starred the traditional design of the monarch with “Akoko leaf” by Oba Lamidi in the presence of traditional rulers, government officials and the cheerful people of the community.

However, the Chairman of Oorelope Local Government Area, Hon. Samuel Okunlade, while speaking, expressed profound gratitude to the executive governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi, for approving the choice of the kingmakers to fill the vacant Alepata stool.

Among the dignitaries that graced the ceremony included Onigboho of Igboho, Oba John Bolarinwa, Ona-Onibode of Igboho land, Oba Abdulrasheed Adetoyese Anikulapo Jaiyeola III, former JAMB Registrar, Emeritus Professor Dibu Ojerinde among others.
