Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has said the creation of four additional emirates in the state was not a witchhunt against Emir Sanusi Lamido.
There have been rumours that the move was meant to pay Emir Sanusi back for not supporting Ganduje during the 2019 elections.
The governor was singled out as the arrowhead of the plan when he gave his assent the bill on Thursday.
However, while speaking on Friday, Ganduje noted that he had nothing against Emir Sanusi.
According to him, the development was because he is taking the state to the next level and traditional institutions in the state have a prominent role to play.
