Adekuoroye, it was gathered, claimed that the authorities in Ondo only appreciate football.

“I have made up my mind not to represent Ondo State at the 3rd Governor Dickson Wrestling Championships next month,” the four-time African champion told News Agency of Nigeria on Friday.

“The state government has refused to fulfill promises made to wrestlers in the past.

“When we returned from the 2018 Commonwealth Games, a promise was made to host victorious athletes, but till date, nobody has seen the governor.”

According to her, there was no training equipment or facilities in the indoor hall to cater for their needs.

“I stand to be corrected; there are no training equipment and facilities in Ondo State. The reason why some of us are excelling is because of our passion for the sports,” she added.

“The governor is only concentrating on Sunshine Stars which cannot even win the CAF Championship League.”
