Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze has reportedly dumped Paul Aigbogun’s Flying Eagles for a place in the Super Eagles ahead of the 2019 Africa cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

According to the Flying Eagles Media Officer, Andrew Randa, the youngster had pledged his allegiance to the senior national team.

But Randa did not state reasons Chukwueze opted out of the Poland U-20 World Cup after initially expressing interest in playing for the Flying Eagles.

It might, however, be connected with his team, Villarreal, insisting that the U-17 World Cup winner would only be allowed to take part in one of the two competitions.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has shown interest in the winger, with the U-23 Coach, Imama Amakapabo, also joining in the race to have him in his team.
