The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it is taking necessary measures to tackle the activities of recruitment scammers. The Comptroller-General of the service, Muhammad Babandede, said this in a parley with newsmen in Abuja recently. Babandede said the service is collaborating with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the police to arrest the criminals. The NIS boss, who noted that the issue of fake recruitment sites had been on the increase in recent times, warned that the service was not recruiting yet. “I wish to state that the service is not recruiting and has not engaged any agent or vendor to do so on its behalf. “The public is to note that the said website www.nisrecruitment.com.ng and the application process is fake and entirely the handiwork of fraudsters.”

The security outfit said this while dismissing insinuations that it has released the list of successful applicants. The aptitude test for the recruitment had taken place on Saturday, April 13th, 2019 in various centres across the country. “For the avoidance of doubt, the Nigerian Navy has not released the list of successful candidates in the 2019 recruitment,” a statement from the spokesman for the navy, Commodore Suleman Dahun, read. He also noted that “the list of successful candidates will be conveyed to the public through the Nigerian Navy official website and mass media in due course.”
