Concise News understands that Ahmed is being pressured to challenge governor Yahaya Bello for the party’s ticket to run for the November poll.

The group, under the auspices of Concerned Okun Youth Leaders, said in a letter to the National Chairman of APC that only Ahmed seems upright with blameless record of integrity among those running for the position.

Reading a communique adopted after a meeting on Saturday, the conveners described the need for a fresh candidate for the party as urgent, important and unavoidable in view of what they believe is the failure of the Bello administration.

“It is an open secret and a known fact that Governor Bello has squandered the goodwill of the party, failed irredeemably and have made people poorer. It is popular news that Kogites now considers the suicide option due to non payment of salary running into several months, unnecessary animosity with virtually all the stakeholders in the state and his juvenile approach to all issues. It is therefore imperative that such a monumental failure be replaced with a better candidate,” the communique read.
