Alexandre Lacazette has been named Arsenal’s player of the season, voted for by the fans.
The Frenchman has bagged 18 goals and 12 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions this season, netting twice on Thursday night as Arsenal came from behind to beat Valencia in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final.
Lacazette has notched 13 times in the Premier League this season as the Gunners continue their pursuit of a Champions League spot for next season.
Upon announcement of the honour, Lacazette said: “Thank you to everyone who voted for me to be Player of the Season. I’m so proud, thank you so much!”
On Thursday night, Lacazette told BT Sport “We want to win the Europa League to go straight to the Champions League but also to win a trophy.
“We want to finish in the top four in the Premier League and if we can go to Baku [for the Europa League final] it will be special.”
Lacazette has formed a fine relationship with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this season, with the two combining eight times to score this term.
