1. FEC Approves N1.6bn For Antiretroviral Drugs, Construction Of Seven Model Schools

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has given approval for the supply of first-line Antiretroviral (ARV) drugs for the National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA). Also, the council which met for over five hours which was presided by vice-president Yemi Osinbajo also approved the construction of seven model schools in each zone of the country including the FCT. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, disclosed at a media briefing after the council meeting on Thursday.

2. Saudi Arabia Releases Another Nigerian Arrested For Drug Trafficking

The government of Saudi Arabia has released a Nigerian, Ibrahim Abubakar, arrested over alleged drug trafficking. The Media aide to President Muhammadu BuhariBashir Ahmad, made this known via Twitter on Thursday.

The police in Zamfara have confirmed that an all-female secondary school was attacked by armed bandits on Wednesday night. Concise News reports that however, no students were abducted, the state police commissioner, Celestine Okoye, divulges, according to Premium Times; contrary to a viral rumour on social media.

6. Police Reveal How Buhari’s ADC’s Father-In-Law Was Kidnapped; Make Arrest

Police have said that six kidnappers stormed the residence of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Aide de Camp’s father-in-law in a Peugeot 405 unregistered car, blue in colour, shot sporadically into the air, and abducted him. Concise News had reported that Musa Umar, who is the father of Fatima Musa, wife of Colonel Mohammed Abubakar, Buhari’s ADC, was abducted by unknown gunmen in his Daura residence in Katsina state. Meanwhile, police say that the suspects in connection with the abduction have been arrested. Spokesperson for the force in the northwest state, Gambo Isah, said that police patrol team later arrived the scene and arrested some of the suspects.

7. Ganduje Sacks All Permanent Secretaries

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has sacked all Permanent Secretaries in the state, in line with the present government’s reformation resolve. The government made this made known in a statement from the Head of Civil Service on Thursday.

8. Plane Crash Lands At Ilorin Airport

Fear gripped airport community as a plane crash-landed at the Ilorin International Airport in Ilorin, Kwara state, on Wednesday. Concise News learned that it was a training aircraft belonging to the International Aviation College (IAC). According to Daily Trust, the Diamond plane with registration Number 5N-BNH with two pilots onboard crashed landed at exactly 11:05 am without any casualty.
