Kogi News: What Yahaya Bello Told APC Group Over 2nd Term Ambition

The Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has told Governor Yahaya Bello to pay up workers salary arrears or forget his second term bid, Concise News reports.

This online news medium had reported that Bello is seeking a second term in office as the leader of Kogi State following due consultation with relevant stakeholders.

However, during the 2019 Workers’ Day, the NLC noted that Bello will find it hard to win a second term if he does not pay off over 30 months of salary arrears.

“If you pay our salaries, leave bonuses and implement our promotions, we assure you that we shall stand by you,” the Kogi State NLC Chairman, Onu Edoka, told the governor represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Folashade Ayoade-Arike.

“If only the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would make their votes count, workers would decide the next governor of the state on Nov. 2.”

He noted that “Workers have the power to determine the next governor of the state and would prove it in the state governorship election slated for November 2, if only the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would make our votes count.”
