The policeman, said to be drunk, had a horsewhip, popularly known as “Koboko”, in his hands and had vowed to beat the hell out of the driver.
However, the driver, who seemed daring, said he was ready to fight the policeman and was sure he would beat him.
Explaining himself to people who gathered around, the driver claimed he did not commit any offence, adding that the policeman only approached him and suddenly started harassing him for parking at a bus stop.
Following the policeman’s refusal to allow him go, the driver went in search of a wood in which he said would be his tool to damage the legs of the policeman.
The police operative, however, told him to congratulate himself that he had dropped his gun, saying, it would have been his last day on earth.
It took the intervention of passers-by to resolve the rift between them.
