ACP Abayomi Shogunle

Assistant Commissioner of Police Abayomi Shogunle has reacted to a recent clampdown on alleged prostitutes in Abuja nightclub by men of the Nigerian Police Force.

The policemen’s action attracted reactions from members of the public, with some condemning the arrest of the women.

But in his reaction on Twitter, on Tuesday, ACP Shogungle, who heads the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) of the police, berated those condemning the police and declared that prostitution is a crime under the law.

His tweet however still did not go down well with most of his followers who tongue-lashed him for what they believe is a reckless and rude comment from a senior police officer.
