Nigeria Customs Service Hints At Plan To Unearth Talents

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has declared its readiness to support the development of beach volleyball in Nigeria.

Concise News reports that this was made known by the Sports Secretary General of Nigeria Customs Service, Samuel Onikeku at the ongoing African Nations Beach Volleyball Senior Men and Women Championships in Abuja on Friday.

Onikeku divulges that there are plans to stage a maiden beach volleyball league in the country.

“The game will start to develop in Nigeria. There are plans to stage a beach volleyball league in the country in the next two weeks which is an avenue to get talents to represent the country in the future competition,” he says.

Also, Onikeku lauds the Nigeria women’s beach volleyball team for qualifying for the world championship in Germany adding that the Nigeria Customs service will support the team in their quest to do the nation proud.

“I’m happy that my players are representing Nigeria in this competition and they were able to secure a ticket for the country.

“We have been preparing our girls for years and this is the result of the preparation. The team just came from indoor championship which is a different ball game.” According to him; “I can assure you that the Controller General of Customs (Col. Hameed Ali) is always ready to support the team, and we will set up a committee who will work with the Nigerian Volleyball Federation to help the team with camping ahead of the world championship.”
