Nigerian Air Force Recruitment 2019: Full List Of Shortlist For Benue State

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has released the shortlist of candidates for the zonal screening or interview for its 2019 recruitment, Concise News reports. This news medium understood that the NAF recruitment shortlist was released on Thursday by the agency. Benue Among States Ready To Pay N30,000 Minimum Wage

Governors Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti), Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Abdulfatah Ahmed Kwara) and Samuel Ortom (Benue) have assured workers of their readiness to pay the N30,000 new minimum wage. Concise News reports that they spoke yesterday at different fora on the minimum wage, which was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari. To Ortom, workers deserve more than N30,000 minimum wage if funds were available to pay. The governor says consultations would soon begin towards successful implementation of the new wage.

Benue: Ortom Speaks On Dumping PDP For APC Again

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has denied the rumour making the rounds that he is planning to dump the Peoples Democratic (PDP), for the All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking with reporters in Makurdi on Friday, Governor Ortom described the rumour as the handiwork of mischief makers. He said that there was no basis for leaving the PDP as he has been accommodated and made comfortable in return.

Benue, Taraba Killings: Middle Belt Group Blasts Governors Over Insecurity

Nigerian governors have come under attack from the Middle Belt Conscience Guard (MBCG), over their perceived cold attitude towards the endless killings and unrest in the region. MBCG said the lukewarm attitude of the governors and stakeholders in the country was becoming worrisome. The group called urged governors in Nigeria to wake up and take decisive action over the spate of killings, kidnappings and criminality.

Benue Insecurity: Ortom Calls For Fast, Prayer

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called on the people of the state to pray and fast against the rise in insecurity. Concise News reports that Ortom who decries the increasing insecurity of the state notes that there are evil forces causing bloodshed and destruction in the state. The governor made the call at NKST Church, Iordye,  Makurdi on Saturday.

Benue: Angry Mob Lynch Armed Robber To Death

An angry mob on Saturday afternoon lynched a suspected armed robber to death leaving another close to death after they allegedly snatched money from some people in a market area of Benue state. Concise News reports that the suspected armed robbers were said to have dispossessed some persons of their money and thereafter jumped on motorcycles and were speeding away with their loot. However, the victim raised an alarm which attracted commercial motorcyclists popularly known as Okada riders. The riders gave the thieves a hot chase. Luck ran out on the armed robbers when the Okada riders accosted them along Atom Kpera Road close to Bolek Filling Station where one of them was stoned to death in a gutter. The quick intervention of policemen from the D-Division saved the other suspected armed robber who also had bloodstains all over his body as a result of stoning. When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene says she was yet to be briefed on the matter, according to The Sun Nigeria.

Benue: Troops Rescue Kidnap Victims From Clutches Of Notorious Bandits’ Leader, Gana

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has said troops of Operation Whirl Stroke, deployed to counter banditry activities in North Central Nigeria, have rescued three kidnap victims in a building located at Gana’s family compound at Gbise in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State. Concise News reports that a statement from Defence spokesman, Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu says the victims, a man and two women, were rescued during a dawn raid in the early hours of Friday 26 April 2019, when troops stormed a building reportedly belonging to a notorious bandits’ leader, Gana.
