1. Why Minimum Wage Implementation May Be Delayed

The implementation of the new National Minimum Wage signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari appears to have been hit by some bottlenecks.It was learned that officials of some state governments have said that they had yet to receive the documents containing the implementation guidelines from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, almost 10 days after the wage bill was signed into law.

According to a statement signed by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa and obtained by Concise News, Major General Kazaure has been posted from National Youth Service Corps to Nigerian Army Resource Centre and appointed as Senior Resource Person.

The President Muhammadu Buhari administration has offered employment to 168 winners of the President’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Honours Awards. The award ceremony, held Friday night at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, was organised for corps members who served in the sets of 2015, 2016, and 2017.

6. Remove Adeleke As Osun West Senator, Group Asks Court

Akinwale Olaniyi and Akinjide Monsuru Friday filed an application seeking the disqualification of Ademola Adeleke as the senator representing Osun West. It was gathered that the plaintiffs lodged the suit at the Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. Concise News understands that the plaintiffs, according to the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/462/2019, are praying the court to direct Adeleke to refund all salaries, allowances and other emoluments he has received as a senator.

7. 2019 Election: Atiku Threatens To Jail INEC Chairman

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 election Atiku Abubakar has threatened to pursue the imprisonment of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Mahmood Yakubu by filing contempt proceedings against him.
