Buhari Govt Offers ‘Immediate Employment’ To 168 NYSC Awardees

The President Muhammadu Buhari administration has offered employment to 168 winners of the President’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Honours Awards.

The award ceremony, held Friday night at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, was organised for corps members who served in the sets of 2015, 2016, and 2017.

Concise News understands that recipients of the President’s NYSC Honours Award, introduced in 1974, were corps members who contributed to national development by embarking on community development projects among others during service.

Nigeria’s vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo, announced the employment offer.

It was learned that Osinbajo, a professor, directed that the recipients of the awards be employed immediately into the Federal Civil Service.

That’s not all.

Nigeria’s current number two citizen announced automatic scholarships for the awardees to undertake postgraduate studies of their choice.

Former Head of State and founder of the NYSC, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd), attended the event.

Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung, and his colleague in the ministry of communications, Adebayo Shittu, were also in attendance.
