The PFA on Thursday announced the team of the season in the Premier League, and to the dismay of many fans, Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard was missing while Manchester United’s Paul Pogba made the list.
The team is dominated by stars from title-chasers Liverpool and Manchester City with the Manchester United midfielder as the only exception.
Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has not been included for the second season running, despite being a nominee for the main individual prize this term.
So far this season, Hazard, who won the PFA Player of the Season in 2015, has scored 16 Premier League goals and is the most creative player in the league having recorded 13 assists so far.
Fans have been reacting to this development on Twitter and below are some f their reactions:
Eden Hazard has been directly involved in more goals (29) than any other player in the Premier League this season:
⚽ 16 goals
🅰️ 13 assists

This silly team of the year thing is ridiculous, about as valid as fans saying my team for Saturday is….
Not even about the missing Spurs,
which I won’t start on but
how can Hazard not be in it?

Eh,either choice is fine with me. Hazard has been great but so has Mane. And as I said, one is challenging for the league and the other top 4

How did Pogba make PFA TOTY and Eden Hazard couldn't? Even Abdoulaye Doucoure has had a far better season than Pogba…

Deluded judges putting @paulpogba in that team over @hazardeden10 or @Calteck10 is completely outrageous the stats are there and speak for themselves. How many motm awards has pogba got this season? I bet @hazardeden10 has more than that whole midfield!

When Salah won it last year, he had scored past every team in the division at least once I think. Hazard has that in his locker, I just don’t think he is that motivated by Chelsea. I think Son gives more for Spurs than Hazard does for Chelsea

Seeing no Hazard makes me think you have to score 10 goals in 1 match to be in that corrupt list

No way does Hazard beat Mane! Mane has been Liverpool's main attacking threat this season whereas Hazard went on a long spell of being average. I cant stand Liverpool but Mane deserves to be in there 100%

Hazard hasn’t been consistent enough to make the team. Sterling has had an unreal end to the season. Son should is a shout. But Salah joint top goal scorer not on it is quite strange.

The job at hand for Hazard & #Pogba is immense , carrying a whole team, and they get more criticism because on their off day , the team loses points , every other superstar in opposition teams can afford that "Off Day", cause there will be another saviour…
