Comment credited to the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, that medical doctors are free to leave Nigeria because the country has enough hands has attracted wide condemnation from members of the public.
Concise News understands that the Minister made the comment on Wednesday during a programme on Channels Television.
Many Nigerians have slammed him for being ‘insensitive’ to the Nigerian health system.
Below are some of the reactions from Nigerians as seen on Twitter:
Careless and unreasonable statement! Why other countries are keeping their best Brains, a minister is happy Nigerians best Brains are being exported just bcuz he can afford to travel abroad for Medical treatment. Shame on you Dr Chris Ngige https://t.co/3q1x5ZK3jb

In a country where you have 2 Doctors consulting over 300 patients in a single shift in a general Chris Ngige Minister for Labour in Nigeria is boasting that Nigeria has more than enough Doctors. Those who wants to leave Nigeria are free to do so.

“Nigeria has surplus doctors, so it’s okay if some relocate to another country”
~ Dr Chris Ngige
The only natural disaster we have in Nigeria are the human beings in Nigeria especially our politicians.

@WHO recommendation for doctor to patient ratio is 1:600 , and Nigeria is currently at 1:5,715 patients with just 35k doctors;
But our Min. Of Health thinks doctors should become tailors, while Chris Ngige (Min. Of Labour) thinks they should leave.
Tragic! 🤦🏾♂️ https://t.co/ocjqqTQsNT

Unfortunately, people like Chris Ngige, adebayo shittu, fashola, Audi Ogbe etc will make the next ministerial list. These people are fit as governor/commissioner but not a minister carrying the burden of a whole nation in their ministries.

Chris Ngige: we have more than enough medical doctors. Let them go abroad and practice and earn foreign exchange.
Incredible! Just when you are beginning to think you've heard it all from this government…

If you need further proof that this country is running on its last (non-existent) legs, please listen to Chris Ngige this morning.

It took BUHARI @MBuhari nearly a year(while he destroys the economy)
to appoint the likes of "Chris Ngige" as Minister. Under Buhari's government Nigeria has it highest unemployment rate in history. The current unemployment figure is more than 20.3million.
Credit to Buhari 4X4.
