She lost her life during an exchange of gunfire between police officers guarding the castle and suspected bandits.

This online news medium reported how Mooney, an official of Mercy Corps Nigeria, a humanitarian agency, lost her life.

In a statement on Monday, Sani says Mooney was a victim of the propaganda of those who falsely advertised the state as safe.

“Her Killing reflects the danger and disorder that has become of the crime of Kidnappings in Kaduna state and other states in northern Nigeria,” the outspoken senator says.

“Faye Mooney is a martyr and a hero who believed in us and we as a state failed to protect her. Faye Mooney was lost to a failure of leadership and the perilous collapse of security in the North West.

“She was a victim of the propaganda of those who falsely advertised the state that everything is well. Faye Mooney’s death was needless if those in the position of executive authority woke up and rose up to the challenge of insecurity in the state.”

The legislator says the north has lost its peace and freedom to kidnappers and bandits.

“Kaduna has moved from its known motto as a centre of learning to a centre of Abduction. Trains and planes have become the only safest means of transportation to and from the state and even when you arrived you are not safe,” he says.

“Kaduna like Zamfara and Katsina state are under siege of dangerous armed kidnappers. Kidnappers stalks and prowls our land, the clouds of death and ransom hangs over our heads.

“When Violence, deaths and disorder reign supreme and continues unabated, it’s either The government failed or the nation is failing or both.”
