AFCON U-17: Nigeria's Eaglets Finishes At Top Of Their Group

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets Finished top of Group A after they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Cub of Uganda in their last group match at the 2019 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Nigerians were once again wasteful in front of goal but got the needed one point that sealed the semi-final progression and FIFA U-17 World Cup ticket.

Uganda took the lead when John Kokas Alou scores a header from a set piece in the 69th minute in which the Eaglets responded positively immediately.

Ibraheem Jabaar levelled for Nigeria in the 74 minutes producing lots of chances but they were unable to convert.

Manu Garba’s boys won their first two matches against host Tanzania and Angola who also booked their World Cup ticket.

The young Angola team defeated Tanzania 4-2 as the host lost all their three matches and were eliminated together with Uganda.
