Manchester City‘s loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Wednesday has sparked reactions among football fans on Twitter, with some claiming that Pep Guardiola has not surpassed Manuel Pellegrini’s record at City despite spending humongous amount of money.
City were sent packing by Spurs who went through on away goals rule after losing 4-3 on the night at the Etihad Stadium having won the first leg 1-0 back in London last week.

Time to put some respect on Pellegrini's name. One of the most tragic stories in football. Sacked from Real Madrid because Mourinho was available. Sacked from Man City because Guardiola was available. Over achieved at Villarreal and Malaga. Deserved more.

But Pellegrini inherited an expensive, well structured, experienced players in their prime from Mancini. Guardiola replaced some tired legs with quality players as well.
And Mourinho wanting to spend an equal amount is CLEAN, not FRAUDULENT but VERY BRILLIANT.

Pep Guardiola has failed at Bayern Munich and Man City because he has failed to win the champions league or equal Pellegrini's Semi final feat.
But Ronaldo is not a failure at Juventus despite failing to equal What they(Juventus) achieved last last season.

Manuel Pellegrini won the EPL in his first season, and got them to semi finals of the UCL in one of his 3 seasons there. Guardiola has won the EPL once, and never gone beyond quarterfinals in his 3 years of UCL at City, with close to a billion dollars spent so far!

Guardiola was not employed because of EPL trophy, FA or Carling cups but Champions League. He had failed to deliver the same way he failed at Bayern. He's never won it outside the fraudulent Barca. Pellegrini won everything except CL for Man City. He was sacked.
Time up 4 Pep.

Despite spending up to 600 million pounds, Guardiola can't take Mancity to even par Pellegrini's record of a UCL semi final.
Last season, it was Liverpool, this season it's Spur.
Yet they say he's the best Modern era club coach.
Zidane >>>> Tiki Taka Thierry Henry

Even if Guardiola didn't win the league this season, he'd still have won one more trophy than Pellegrini. The comparisons are absolutely pointless

True! Guardiola is probably overrated. He had the best squad at Bayern, yet he couldn't get to the final. He took a great team from Pellegrini and also bought so many expensive players, yet he hasn't been able to match Pellegrini's record.

PSG spent ova £400m on 2 players jst cos of d Champions League. For seasons now, they neva smelt the UCL Semi Finals, wat do we call that? Comparing Pellegrini's Man City to Guardiola's City is bullshit. U can as well say Ranieri's Leceister deserve accolades dan Guardiola's City

Reminder that Pellegrini took City further in the Champions League before he left while Guardiola has spent half a billion and the closest his come to a Semi final is an offside goal. Put this shaved ball sacks face next to the word 'fraud' in the dictionary already.
