The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has lauded Coalition of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria (COSCON) for calling for investigation into the origin and nationality of President Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar.
Kanu said that it is refreshing to see an influential group like COSCON make such call in Nigeria “where the silent majority are known for their timidity and lack of courage”.
The Umbrella body of all civil society groups in Nigeria known as COSCON (coalition of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria) had called for an independent investigation into the allegation that Atiku is from Cameroon and Buhari from Guinea.
It was gathered that the Director of Programmes, Promise Edomobi in a statement lamented that foreigners have been ruling Nigeria since independence, finding their way into political, security and civil service sectors of the country.
He called for a full investigation as pertaining to the allegation saying that if it is found to be genuine, both persons should be deported immediately.
Reacting to the COSCON’s call on Twitter, Kanu tweeted: “In Nigeria where the silent majority are known for their timidity and lack of courage, it’s refreshing to see an influential group like COSCON call for investigation into the origin and nationality of Jubril/Buhari & Atiku. Every right thinking person must insist on this outcome.”
