The senator in his support speech stated that Omotola has spoken for millions of Nigerians, adding that she should not be castigated in any way.

“Omotola’s view reflects the views of millions of poor Nigerians; throwing mud on her cannot twist the reality,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the Presidency had fired back at the Nollywood actress, with a response from the Personal assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on new media, Bashir Ahmad.

Ahmad said that those who are making money legitimately have no complaints about the current state of Nigeria.

Following the response, Omotola rubbished his opinion of the presidency about making legitimate money.

She wrote, “As long as you’re not insinuating that I am not working CLEAN for my money… I hear from you. It’s good that there is some progress… Do you truly want to say you don’t see all that’s really wrong? Can we fight for our future in truth for once? Without being partisan?”
