Former presidential media aide Reno Omokri has refereed to Festus Keyamo as Stephanie Otobo after the spokesman for President Muhammadu Buhari 2019 Presidential Campaign stated that an aspirant does not need a WAEC certificate to become a president.

Keyamo had worked as legal counsel to Miss Otobo in her suit against the founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

The lawyer, apparently replying the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which had argued that President Buhari did not deserve to run for presidency given the controversies surrounding his WAEC certificate, twitted that “you do not even need a WAEC certificate to become president of Nigeria.”

“There are other levels of qualifications to run for the office of president. In fact, if you have occupied the public office for a reasonable length of time, by the provisions of the Constitution, you do not even need a WAEC certificate to become president of Nigeria,” Keyamo, a senior advocate of Nigeria, had twitted.

“Yes. Section 318 of the 1999 Constitution defines ‘School Certificate or its equivalent’ to mean Primary 6 School Leaving Certificate plus the ability to just speak, write, understand and communicate in English language to the satisfaction of INEC. No WAEC certificate is needed.”

In his reaction to Keyamo’s tweet, Omokri, who served as spokesman for former president Goodluck Jonathan, said the lawyer was shameless over his WAEC certificate arguments.

“@OfficialAPCNg took Senator Adeleke to Court, alleging that he had no certificate, now a shameless Festus (Stephanie Otobo) @FKeyamo is arguing that @MBuhari DOES NOT need a WAEC certificate to be President. It’s like saying you need a certificate to be gateman but not to be MD!” he twitted.
