What Sultan Of Sokoto Said About Armed Banditry

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has pledged to assist the police and other security outfits to end the activities of armed bandits in the northern Nigeria.

The Sultan made this known during a visit to his palace by the acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal, and his deputy, Mannir Dan’iya.

He made the pledge in the wake of recent deadly attacks by bandits in Zamfara, Sokoto and Katsina.

According to a statement from the police, the Sultan promised to use the forum of Northern Traditional Rulers to rally support of all the Traditional Rulers from Northern Nigeria to fight armed banditry and other crimes in the region.

It was learned that the police boss, thereafter, visited the Police Headquarters in Sokoto and charged policemen to raise the bar in the fight against armed banditry and other crimes in the State.
