1. INEC Announces Date For Kogi, Bayelsa Governorship Polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled November 2, 2019, for the conduct of governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa States. INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Voter Education and Information, Festus Okoye, announced this in a statement on Tuesday.

2. Nine Police Officers Sacked, Six Others Demoted

Police authorities in Nigeria have sent packing nine senior police officers and demoted six others for different cases of misconduct, Concise News has learned. The body responsible for police affairs in Nigeria, Police Service Commission (PSC), also approved the severe punishment for five officers and serious reprimand for another five.
